Trip to Paris

Paris Trip July 2013, 13-17th We left on a sunny Saturday morning to spend four days in Paris, on a very special occasion, since it was France National Day, Bastille Day, the day that saw the beginning of the French Revolution and the end of the Monarchy, on the 14th July 1789. We arrived in a city on the outskirt of Paris, after a long journey and had dinner in a lovely Pizzeria, where the owner couldn’t resist Ms Ejiofor’s charms. The next day, we visited one of France’s most luxurious palaces, Château de Versailles. Under a beautiful blue sky and 95°F, we wandered around the mesmerising gardens and visited the numerous rooms of the castle and its famous Hall of Mirrors, displaying an impressive 357 mirrors. We spent the afternoon in Paris and took a boat tour of the Seine River to discover the splendours of the city under the best summer weather. In the evening, we had dinner in a very nice French restaurant before heading to the Trocadero Square, to watch the most beautiful Firework in the entire world, 40 minutes of pure, goose-bumping emotions on a French-music theme: an unforgettable experience for us all! On the Monday, we headed to Musée du Louvre, where the exquisite and mysterious Mona Lisa is displayed. After seeing all these beautiful masterpieces, we headed to the Champs Élysées, the world’s most famous shopping Avenue, with its luxury boutiques and restaurants and perfectly aligned trees. We stood at the foot of the Arc de Triomphe, monument erected by Napoleon, to celebrate France’s victory in Austerlitz. We then headed to the most French part of Paris, Montmartre, a cute village on top of a hill, where was built a beautiful white Basilica and where the artists hang out. Some of us had their faces immortalised on paper. After dinner we headed to the iconic Eiffel Tower and climbed the 669 steps to the second floor to take the lift to the very top of the tower. No words can describe the incredible views of the sun setting on the most beautiful and romantic city in the world. On our last day, we left Paris to spend the day in Disneyland Paris and meet the famous Disney characters, take on the scariest rides and fill our heads with the last memories, before driving back to grey England. A fantastic experience, which all of us would like to recommend you. So, if reading this article made you dream about France, join us this year and don’t miss this great opportunity to see the French subject into a completely different context.
